'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' news: Final trailer said to be attached to Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'
Marketing for Gareth Edwards' "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is already picking up some steam. As of now, the movie has two trailers out online, but reports are saying that a final trailer will be attached to the release of Marvel's "Doctor Strange" when it comes out in November.
The news was confirmed by the marketing director of the Russian division of Disney, ComicBookMovie.com reports. "Doctor Strange" will release earlier in Russia on Oct 28 and the premiere will also include the final preview for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
There's no confirmation on whether or not the "Rogue One" trailer will be available online at the same time, but some fans have pointed out that the final trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" came out on Oct. 19 of last year. If the marketing team was to follow that pattern, the final trailer will find its way to audiences this October.
Last Friday also marked the release of all-new "Rogue One" merchandise and toys. Dubbed "Rogue Friday," numerous fans and collectors lined up outside toy stores to get their hands on the latest "Rogue One" merchandise. Lucasfilm pulled the same stunt last year for "The Force Awakens" with "Force Friday."
Collectors should also take note that the event has figures and toys exclusive to specific retailers like K-Mart, Walmart, and Amazon, so anyone who is looking to collect everything will have to visit different shops in order to get their hands on exclusive items.
Some fans have pointed out that the main draw for the movie is considered to be the appearance of Darth Vader, but with the release of the new figures and merchandise, anticipation for the movie may reach a different type of high.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will hit theaters on Dec. 16.
