'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' release date, plot spoilers: Info on the new aliens and stormtroopers revealed
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is coming this December, and the marketing team is rolling out more and more information about the movie. New character descriptions have been given for two of the movie's new aliens as well as the shoretrooper and hovertank driver.
The information comes from fan website Making Star Wars.
The first character to get a description is called Moroff. His specie is known as Gigoran, and he looks to be on the grey side when it comes to the fight between the rebels and the Empire. He is said to be a weapons dealer and he sells guns in the battlefield. He is also described as a mercenary, so it would seem possible that he defects to the side that pays him more.
Next is Rebel Commando Pao. His species is called Drabata and they are amphibious. The character has a mouth that opens up really wide, and he has a battle cry of,"Sa'Kalla!" He is a member of Jyn Erso's (Felicity Jones) Rogue One team, and he helps with the mission on finding the secret plans for the Death Star.
On to the new stormtrooper classes; the first one is the hovertank driver. These troopers are not so heavily armored as they rely on the thick hide of their tanks to keep them safe. They are in charge of maneuvering the Empire's large arsenal of armored repulsor vehicles.
The Scarif stormtroopers (or the shoretroopers) are imperial soldiers based on the Imperial Military headquarters in Scarif. They patrol the beaches and bunkers and watch out for any unwelcome visitors of the facility.
This coming Sept 30 also marks Rogue Friday, and a lot of merchandise from the movie will be made available for purchase.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will come out on Dec. 16.
