Fox drama series "Rosewood" returns later later this year for its much-awaited sophomore season, and a "90210" alum recently joined the cast as a series regular.

Brian Austin Vet was recently confirmed to be the latest addition to the show. He will play the role of East Miami Police's newest member, Aaron Slade. According to TV Line, Aaron has a mysterious past, and him entering the picture will make the messy partnership between Det. Annalise Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz) and Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Morris Chestnut) even more complicated. He has trust issues and does not like the concept of teams or partnerships, keeping Villa and Rosewood "on their toes as they go to great lengths to figure him out." In the process of unveiling the layers of the real Aaron Slade, the duo will discover more about his interesting origins.

Season 1 wrapped up with Rosewood and Villa close to revealing how they truly feel about each other. Rosewood later on probed a case without Villa following some interesting evidences he discovered on his own. Meanwhile, Rosewood and Pippy (Gabrielle Dennis) talked about their guesses concerning Donna's (Lorraine Toussaint) romantic life. Pippy and Tara (Anna Konkle) ended their engagement and elsewhere, Hornstock (Domenick Lombardozzi) must deal with the repercussions of his past actions. Details about the new storyline are still under wraps, but the series will likely pick up on the events after the season 1 finale.

A teaser has been released by Fox for the upcoming season, but it mostly featured highlights from the previous season. CarterMatt notes that the trailer is a way to introduce the show to a wider audience instead of just revealing what comes next for the rest of the characters.

Tune in to the season 2 premiere of "Rosewood" on September 22, Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
