Samsung Galaxy A7 Release Date: Device Seen At Launch Of A3 and A5 in Malaysia
After months of feverish anticipation and several leaks about its specs, the Galaxy A7 finally made it appearance before the general public at a recent event hosted by Samsung. This event was held in Malaysia to launch the Galaxy A3 and A5. Samsung also took advantage of the opportunity to present its Galaxy A7 to the attendees.
With the first look at the Galaxy A7, it is certain now that the phone is no longer just a rumor and that an official worldwide launch is coming soon. Malaysia will not have to wait long for the Galaxy A7 because it is due to launch sometime in February. The phone will reportedly cost around RM 1,499 equivalent to $420 USD.
Although the phone's price tag and specs have been made public, Samsung still has to announce its official launch date. Soyacincau, which covered the event in Malaysia, noted that the A7 will come with 4G LTE support. As for its Super-Amoled display it will be a 5.5-inch full HD version with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels.
The phone will be powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm's 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor. Its onboard storage is going to be around 16GB. But there is no information on whether the ultra slim phone, rumored to be around 6.3mm thick, will have a microSD slot.
The rumor about the phone having a full metal body has been confirmed by Soyacincau. This confirmation was welcomed by many as Samsung has long preferred to build their phones using a plastic chassis.
With the Galaxy A3 and A5 also being released as metal clad versions, it looks like Samsung is finally ready to leave its reliance on plastic behind and create truly premium smartphones instead.
