Samsung recently announced that it will be launching the Galaxy Book, a tablet-PC hybrid, which is much like how the Apple iPad Pro is packaged. Which of the two is the better option for users?

The answer would really depend on what consumers will use the device for. While the name suggests that it is nothing more than an e-book reader, the Galaxy Book is a laptop in a different form. It comes bundled with a keyboard case and an S Pen Stylus. While it does not come bundled with Microsoft applications, users can simply download these if they want a device geared for productivity. Multi-tasking users will also appreciate the fact that multiple apps can run on this device at a single time, given that it runs on Windows 10.

Another advantage offered by the Samsung Galaxy Book is that it has two USB-C ports, making connectivity easier. Furthermore, it is said to feature the fast charging feature, which cements it as a productivity device.

The iPad Pro, meanwhile, is primarily geared for those who want a portable entertainment device. Apple products are known for good cameras, and this device is no exception, although it is worth mentioning that the 12-inch model of Galaxy Book comes with a rear camera that takes pictures at 13 megapixels, while the iPad Pro's main camera is at 12 megapixels.

While it can be used for productivity, it may not perform as effectively as the former. It does not come bundled with a keyboard and a stylus, so users will need to purchase these separately. Nonetheless, its A9X processing chip should not be underestimated, allowing the device to run fast and load memory-heavy apps such as iMovie.

As with other Apple devices, it does not have expandable memory, although buyers can opt to purchase the models with higher storage if they are anticipating saving a lot of files on their tablet.

The price of the iPad Pro differs depending on size and capacity. The cheapest is at $599 (9.7 inches with 32 GB storage), while the priciest is at $1,299 (12.9 inches with 128 GB storage). No price has been revealed yet for the Samsung Galaxy Book, although it is set to be launched on March 31.
