The Galaxy Note 3 is completely different from the iPhone 6 Plus in terms of specs and features. But in terms of which phone makes a better phablet, the device from Apple narrowly beats its competitor.
Design
The iPhone 6 Plus is basically a bigger version of the iPhone 6. Very little thought has been put into fashioning it like a phablet. This means that it has the same metal unibody design and a smooth back which give it a premium look. At the same time though these features make it prone to accidental drops. As for the Note 3, it has a plastic frame and faux leather on it back which is edged with a stitch. The S Pen stylus that comes with the Note 3 is a major differentiator between the devices as it allow for precise drawing and typing.
Display
The display on the Note 3 is a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. As for the iPhone 6 Plus, it has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch.
Platform
The iPhone 6 comes with the iOS 8 operating system that can be upgraded to iOS 8.1.3. It also has an Apple A8 chipset, coupled with a dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU and PowerVR GX6450 GPU. As for the Note 3, it ships with the Android Jelly Bean operating system, and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, coupled with a quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
The iPhone 6 Plus comes with 1 GB RAM. It does not have a memory slot while the Note 3 has a memory slot which can be used to add up to 64 GB of storage. It also has 3 GB of RAM.
Price
The iPhone 6 Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract while the Note 3 costs $149 with a similar contract.
