Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs Moto X Review: Specs, Price and Camera Comparison - Motorola Phablet Not Far Behind Pricier Rival
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was one of the best-selling phablets of 2014, but the Moto X, Motorola's flagship smartphone, is close behind its more popular rival in terms of design and specs.
Design
The Moto X has a metal frame with a curved glass front panel. Its back panels can be customized with wood, leather or plastic. It is lighter than the Note 4, which is longer and wider. The Note 4 has a premium metal frame and faux leather back panel, which makes it easy to hold. It is also about 14 percent thinner than the Moto X and has an S Pen stylus and finger print sensor.
Display
On the Moto X is an AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch, while the Note 4 has a bigger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 515 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Moto X comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. As for the Note 4 it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, coupled with a quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. It also has another version which comes with an Exynos 5433 chipset, coupled with quad-core Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.3 GHz and quad-core Cortex-A57 clocked at 1.9 GHz CPU and Mali-T760 GPU.
Memory
The Moto X comes with 2 GB RAM while the Note 4 has 3 GB. A major difference between the devices is that the Note 4 has a memory slot which allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. The Moto X does not have one.
Camera
The Note 4 has 16 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, while the Moto X has a 13 megapixel version.
Price
With a two-year contract the Note 4 costs $299 while the Moto X costs $99 with a similar contract.
