Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date, specs rumors: Improved digital assistant, upgraded camera, 4K resolution
Samsung may have gone under fire because of the exploding Galaxy Note 7 but that did not stop the company from moving forward with the rumored Galaxy Note 8. Expected to be the 2017 flagship device, the Galaxy Note 8 may redeem the South Korean tech giant's reputation.
According to reports, the next-generation phablet will be packed with impressive features and high-end specs. It seems like Samsung is willing to do everything just to get the trust of the consumers and they are starting with the digital assistant. Rumors say that the upcoming device will get an improved Siri-like virtual assistant.
Activated through a button at the side of the phone, the purported AI feature is said to go up against its rivals in Apple and Google Assistant. It's said that Samsung will introduce an assistant that can answer questions about taxi rides, nearby restaurants and many more. This will allow users to quickly and easily get the information they need.
Aside from that, the Galaxy Note 8 is also expected to feature an upgraded rear camera. Its controversial predecessor came with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-MP camera. This could mean that the next model in the Galaxy Note series will have better camera specs. Speculations also suggest that there will be enhancements in the user interface specifically in the optical zoom feature.
If the tech giant is going to follow the trend, the Galaxy Note 8 could be getting a dual-camera setup to bring in a more optimized low-light shooting performance. Reports also suggest that the device could be the first one in the brand to feature 4K display resolution. If this is true, fans can expect an ultra-high definition smartphone.
As of now, nothing is really certain yet about the purported device including its release date. It's also said that the phone will not make an appearance during the Mobile World Congress 2017 in February. Fans will have to stay tuned for more updates about the Galaxy Note 8.
