The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge comes with a stunning curved screen while the Moto X (2014) seems to be totally normal without any special characteristics. But this where appearances can be deceptive as the device from Motorola can be fully customized with back panels of your choice.
Design
The Moto X has a premium metal band around its edge and can be customized on the Moto Maker website where back panels fashioned from leather, plastic or wood can be added. Compared to this, the Galaxy Note Edge has a flexible screen that flows over its right side and a metal band around its edge. Its back panel is made of plastic but has a faux leather feel to it. Additionally, the Note Edge's flexible screen operates independently and displays notifications without interrupting the main screen.
Display
The Note Edge has a 5.6 inch-Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a density of 524 pixels per inch, while the Moto X has a 5.2-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Moto X has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and an Adreno 330 GPU while the Note Edge has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU.
Memory
In terms of RAM, the Note Edge has 3 GB while the Moto X has 2 GB. However, the Moto X does not have a memory card slot, while the Note Edge has one that can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB.
Camera
The Note Edge has a 16 megapixel camera at its rear with optical image stabilization while the Moto X has a 13 megapixel version with autofocus and a ring flash.
Price
The Moto X is priced at $546 without a contract, while the Note Edge is priced at $945 also without a contract.
