Samsung Galaxy Note Edge vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Specs, Price Comparison: Features Review
The Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy Note 3 are both from Samsung and have become quite popular since their release. However, in a comparison, the Note Edge, with its curved screen falling over its right side, has an edge – both literally and figuratively – over the Galaxy Note 3 in terms of design.
Design
The most noticeable element of the Note Edge is its bent tip, which is totally independent from its main screen and displays notifications. As for its body, it is made from plastic but has a metal band running along its edge, while its back panel features faux leather. The Galaxy Note 3 has a similar plastic frame, leather-like material on its back panel and a visible stitch running along its edge. Both devices come with S Pen styluses. However the Pen on the Note Edge has more features.
Display
The display on the Note 3 is a 5.7-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. As for the Note Edge, it has a 5.6-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a density of 524 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Note Edge has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, coupled with a quad-core Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU. As for the Note 3 it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset coupled with a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
Both devices come with memory slots. The slot on the Note Edge can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage while the Note 3 slot can handle up to 64 GB of external storage. As for RAM, both the Note 3 and Note Edge have 3 GB versions.
Camera
The Note Edge has a 16 megapixel version at its rear, while the Note 3 has a 13 megapixel version.
Price
The Galaxy Note Edge is priced at $399 with a two-year contract, while the Note 3 is priced at $149 with a similar contract.
