Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Galaxy Note 4 Comparison: Specs Review - Phablet Is Bigger And Better
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the latest flagship phone from Samsung while the Galaxy Note 4 is its bigger phablet sized brother. A comparison between the flagship phablet and phone reveals that they are both remarkable devices with several similarities.
However, the Note 4 definitely has an edge over the Galaxy S5.
The Galaxy S5 and the Note 4 both have sturdy builds and both also rely on plastic. The Galaxy S5 has a full plastic build with a faux metal band running around its edge and a back panel with dimples on it. As for the Note 4 it has a plastic body with a metal band running around its rim and a faux leather back panel. The metallic rim of the Note 4 gives it a premium appearance, but otherwise it is very much like the S5.
The display of the Note 4 is a bigger Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches, with a resolution of1440 x 2560 pixels and a pixel density of 515 pixels per inch. The Galaxy S5, meanwhile, has a Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 432 pixels per inch.
The Note 4 also comes with the S-Pen stylus which the Galaxy S5 does not have. However, the Note 4 is not water resistant like its smaller rival.
As for their platforms, the Galaxy S5 has the Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801chipset along with a quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. The Note 4 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset along with a quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU.
Both devices come with a micro SD slot which allows for external storage of up to 128 GB. They also have similar 16 megapixel cameras at their rear. Likewise, they both have heart rate monitors and fingerprint sensors.
As for their price, the Galaxy S5 is priced at $199 with a two-year contract while the Note 4 is priced at $299 with a similar contract.
