Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Motorola Droid Turbo Review: Specs, Price Comparison - Samsung Flagship Takes on Supercharged Rival
Ever since it was released, the Motorola Droid Turbo has proved that it is not a pushover and even manages to give Samsung's flagship Galaxy S5 a run for its money.
Design
Motorola seeks to project the power of the Droid Turbo with its sturdy build. The phone has two options for its back panel, which is made of ballistic nylon and Kevlar. As for the Galaxy S5, it has a plastic build while its back panel comes with dimpled leather. A major advantage for the Galaxy S5 is that it is IP67 certified and is, therefore, resistant to dust and can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes.
Display
The Droid Turbo has a Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch. As for the Galaxy S5 it has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 432 pixels per inch.
Specs
Both devices come loaded with the Android KitKat operating system which can be upgraded to 5.0 Lollipop. The Galaxy S5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU while the Droid Turbo has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU.
Memory
As for RAM, the Galaxy S5 has 2 GB while the Droid Turbo comes with 3 GB. The Droid Turbo does not have a memory slot while the Galaxy S5 has one that can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB.
Battery
The battery of the Droid Turbo is a huge 3900 mAh version which is non-removable. The Galaxy S5 has a 2800 mAh version.
Price
The Galaxy S5 is priced at $199 with a two-year contract while the Droid Turbo costs $199 with a similar contract.
