Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Photos Of Device Leaked
It is no secret that Samsung is going through trying times with the sluggish sale of its much touted Galaxy S5 smartphone. Even the success of the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge has not managed to bring about a significant increase in the firm's profits. This has led many to turn their attention to the upcoming Galaxy S6.
Leaks on the Galaxy S6 have been coming out at regular intervals. Several websites have surmised that the increased frequency of leaks about the smartphone model means that it will soon be released. Many sources have pegged the release date sometime in February 2015.
The latest leak about the Galaxy S6 consists of a series of photos of the fully operational smartphone. From the notifications on the screen, several websites have assumed that the Galaxy S6 will roll out with the Android 5.0 Lollipop and not the earlier KitKat OS. Also from the leaked pictures it appears that the smartphone will come in at least four colors.
Previous leaks about the smartphone had indicated that it would feature a 5.2 or 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560-pixels. It was thought that the Galaxy S6 would also have the new 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chip, which is also rumored to be on the recently launched Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A.
Some Chinese websites have also stated that two versions of the Galaxy S6 will be released -- one with a curved edge like that on the Galaxy Note Edge and another with a more traditional screen.
However, the most important leak of all was the image showing the Galaxy S6 with a full aluminum body. This could mean that Samsung is abandoning its reliance on a plastic chassis for its phones.
