Samsung Galaxy S6 vs LG G Flex 2 Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison - Premium Metal Device Takes On Curved Plastic

When the bendable LG G Flex 2 was introduced earlier this year, many reviewers predicted that it would outscore other phones in terms of speed and specs. But with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S6 a few days ago, it is clear that the second generation device from LG won't have to look very far for a competitor that can beat it.

Design

Design is where the Galaxy S6 scores high, as it does not rely on plastic. It has a metal frame instead and is covered with Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back. It also has rounded edges on its frame and is extremely slim. As for the G Flex 2 it has a plastic body with a curve extending from top to bottom. On its back is a self-healing coating which can remove minor scratches within 10 seconds at room temperature.

Display

The G Flex 2 has a curved P-OLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 403 pixels per inch, while the Galaxy S6 has a smaller super AMOLED screen measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch.

Specs

Both newly released devices have the latest specs. The Galaxy S6 has an Exynos 7420 chipset, coupled with a CPU with four A53 Cortex cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz, and a Mali-T760 GPU. As for the G Flex 2 it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU and an Adreno 430 GPU.

Memory

The Galaxy S6 does not have a memory slot while the G Flex has a slot that can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. Coming to RAM, both have 3 GB.

Price

The LG G Flex 2 could have a retail price of $680 while the Galaxy S6 could be priced at $699.
