Samsung Galaxy S7 Active release date, specs news: Handset to be launched on June 10? Features include bigger, stronger build
If recent rumors are to be believed, then the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be launched on June 10.
This release date of the newest Samsung smartphone somehow spawned from the alleged leaked images of the Galaxy S7 Active. The images include a view of the phone's screen which displayed the date June 10. If the company pushes through with this rumored June launch, then the release of the Galaxy S7 Active — which is said to be exclusive to the telecommunications network AT&T — will be in the same pattern and fashion as in last year's release of the Galaxy S6.
The body of the upcoming Active variant of the Galaxy S7 will improve its already tough military grade standards. This enhancement then guarantees an even more durable handset than its predecessor.
Meanwhile, where specs are concerned, the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will not veer away too much from the standard model. Although its actual body size will be close to that of the S7 Edge, its screen will keep its 5.1-inch dimension. The Super AMOLED panel will also maintain the QHD resolution of 2560x1440 which is what the standard and Edge variants make use of. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will operate on Snapdragon 820 system on a chip (SoC) rather that the Exynos 8890, but will maintain the 4 GB RAM.
There is still the storage option of 32 GB which has the capacity to be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. The handset will keep its 12 MP rear sensor camera and 5 MP front-facing camera.
The build of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is speculated to be bigger and wider than that of the standard S7. This could mean that the new device will be packaged with a bigger battery of greater capacity at 4000mAh compared with the Galaxy S7's 3000mAh.
All these are but speculations, and it should be noted that neither Samsung nor AT&T has delivered any official statements with regard to the leaked images, specs and other details involving the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active.
