After launching the Blue Coral variant, Samsung is now speculated to take another step to seal their market by enticing them with a Glossy Black variant that was leaked online recently and now reports are guessing it might be out in the market next month.

Sammobile reported that several photos of the supposed Glossy Black variant for Samsung Galaxy S7 surfaced on the Chinese social media site, Weibo. Although the photos were not as clear as everyone wished it to be, the source of the photo is said to be an employee of Samsung who operated in China.

If the Glossy Black sounds a little bit familiar, it is because it's probably going to rival Apples Jet Black variant for iPhone 7 that is typically similar — it is glossy, and it is black. After the iPhone 7 was released the next talk of the town was the Jet Black variant. It was easily sold out and with pending demands.

So, there is no wonder if Samsung plans to rival that especially now that they are back to selling Galaxy S7 as their flagship phone after Galaxy Note 7 went off the rails. If Samsung will indeed release a Glossy Black version of Galaxy S7, it is indicating several things; one is that the production of Galaxy S7 is still alive and kicking.

It can also be recalled that Samsung Galaxy S7 was originally released with another black hue variant officially called the Black Onyx. The main difference is that it had a matte finish.

In the same Sammobile report, it was noted that one main factor to consider with the speculated Glossy Black variant is its resistance to scratches. It is one main concern for iPhone 7 buyers. To be fair, Apple warned their customers about it as soon as it was released. In fact, it is still written as one of the footnotes in iPhone 7's official web page.

Apple says, "The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."

Yes, in ordinary people's tongue, "micro-abrasions" translates to "scratches."

Meanwhile, Samsung is yet to officially announce the Glossy Black release that is speculated to happen next month, in time for the holiday market.
