Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, news, specs rumors: To feature fingerprint scanner, curved screen design? Release expected early 2017
This year's Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones are among the top selling mobile devices today. The South Korean tech company's latest venture in the smartphone field is proven to be a success, thus giving more pressure to Samsung to create an even more sophisticated device next year. However, it is not just the Galaxy S7's success that is giving pressure to the up and coming Galaxy S8 handset, but also the recent Galaxy Note 7 issue and the need for Samsung to bounce back from this.
According to News Everyday, Samsung will be introducing new handset features that the other leading companies in the market today have not yet included in their devices. One of these new features is a special fingerprint scanner, giving the Galaxy S8 better security measures.
Another new thing in the next Galaxy S-series handset is the curved screen display. The previous Samsung smartphones have sported the usual flat screen panel, but the next one from the company will be coming in bolder and slicker with an all-new curved screen. Specifically, two Galaxy S8 variants with curved screens will be released next year, one sporting a QHD 5.1-inch screen and the other with a 4K 5.5-inch display.
Still, the users can expect some similarities between the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8, given that the previous iteration boasts a powerful design.
Meanwhile, The Inquisitr reported that the Galaxy S8 will be sporting a 30MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Like the Apple's iPhone 7, the Galaxy S8 is also expected to use a dual-lens camera. The handset is also expected to have an improved battery with 4,200mAh capacity.
For now, the rumors are rife that the Galaxy S8 smartphones will arrive earlier than the usual last half of the year release schedule. It may be released in the early months of 2017, although Samsung has not yet confirmed the details regarding the device.
