Since Samsung has been facing the necessary consequences for its exploding Galaxy Note 7 units, rumor has it that the South Korean tech giant will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S8 earlier than intended.

According to reports, Samsung usually launches a Galaxy S device at the annual Mobile World Congress, which takes place towards the end of February or in early March. If the rumors are true, Samsung might launch its flagship smartphone a month before the conference. Since the Note 7 has been officially discontinued, the tech giant will need another flagship smartphone to make up for the losses.

More importantly, other competitors in the market are gearing up for another season to make more money. Google recently launched the Pixel smartphones. Meanwhile, Apple is rumored to be preparing for a big iPhone launch in 2017 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the smartphone line.

On the other hand, some analysts have claimed that it's currently impossible for Samsung to release the phone ahead of time. According to reports, Samsung has yet to recover customer trust. Hence, the company might need to earn the market's trust before launching the latest Galaxy S unit.

In a report by the Business Korea, a tech analyst spoke up about Samsung's current situation. "It is virtually impossible for Samsung Electronics to move up the date of the Galaxy S8 as the company's hands are full due to follow-up measures to deal with the Galaxy Note 7 Incident," the analyst said.

Releasing the unit earlier than its intended launch date will be a risky move for Samsung. Though little is known about the company's business plans and its upcoming unit, rumor has it that the tech giant is developing the S8 under the codename Dream or Dream 2.

The S8 will reportedly be a new bezel-less design. It will have a 3,840 x 2,160 screen resolution as well as a 10-nanometer mobile AP (Exynos 8895). Its rear dual camera will reportedly have 16 million pixels.

Since the company still hasn't responded to the latest reports, tech enthusiasts should treat these as speculation until proven otherwise.
