Samsung Galaxy S8 rumors: wireless in-ear headphone to be released?
Rumors about the possible removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack on the next Samsung flagship phone intensifies after new reports seemed to confirm the possibility of featuring a wireless headphone on Galaxy S8.
A report from Sam Mobile claims that the South Korean mobile device manufacturer will launch a new set of wireless in-ear headphones together with the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8 in 2017. This could be similar to the AirPods that was released by Apple Inc. for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
However, the publication has no idea if the rumored wireless in-ear headphones will be part of the Samsung Galaxy S8 package upon release, or if it will be shipped separately just like what Apple did with the AirPods.
There is also no information yet if the upcoming wireless headphone from Samsung will feature the Harman audio technology since the car audio manufacturer has been acquired by the South Korean electronics and consumer products manufacturer in Nov. 2016.
Meanwhile, other speculations claim that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and its bigger cousin Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will come out with a new external S-Pen accessory that can also be found on the discontinued Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
According to International Business Times, adding a stylus could be a good idea since Samsung is planning to release a 5.1-inch Galaxy S8 and a 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Plus.
Other specs rumors for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 product line include a Super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display, either a Snapdragon 830 or Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6 GB of random-access memory (RAM), and the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system (OS) straight out of the box.
The upcoming device might also come with a new artificial intelligence (AI) assistant called "Bixby." However, Samsung has yet to confirm the rumors.
Samsung is expected to release the upcoming Galaxy S8 product line at a company event in New York sometime in April 2017.
