Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 release date, news, specs rumors: Tab S3 announcement coming this December?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is one of the much-anticipated devices from the South Korean tech giant this year. However, the public has only witnessed the unveiling of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones, plus the controversial Galaxy Note 7 last September. Since the Galaxy Tab S2 has been around the market for some time now, the rumors are rife that the Tab S3 will be released before the year ends.
As reported by Game N Guide, a leaked image claimed to be that of the Galaxy S3 has been circulating online. The recently leaked render shows that the upcoming Tab S3 does not look too different from its predecessor. For one, the Tab S3 is said to keep a 4:3 aspect ratio. The image also shows the tablet's plastic back and a new Home button.
Tech Advisor reported that the Galaxy Tab S3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset, with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage capacity, although it is possible that the Galaxy Tab S3 will be a top-tier variant with a higher 64 GB storage. The next Samsung tablet is also expected to have an extended 4,000 mAh battery capacity.
There are other rumors suggesting that the Galaxy Tab S3 will adopt some features of the Galaxy S7 smartphone. Instead of a Snapdragon chipset, the tablet may use an Exynos 8990 processor that is also powering up the Galaxy S7 handsets. The excellent reviews received by the Galaxy S7 might be the reason for Samsung to make this move.
There is also some improvement on the tablet's camera features, with the Galaxy Tab S3 sporting an 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front or selfie camera, according to Trusted Reviews. The traditional microUSB connector of the Galaxy Tab is expected to be replaced by the new USB Type-C port.
To note, the Galaxy Tab S2 has a price ranging from $399 to $499, depending on the variant. The same pricing can be expected once the newer Galaxy Tab S3 units have arrived.
According to Yibada, it is likely that the Galaxy Tab S3 will be revealed in time for the holiday season, and Samsung might take the opportunity to release the device this December for higher sales. Still, people are advised to follow the announcements from Samsung.
