Samsung has confirmed via its official Twitter account that Iron Man versions of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are in the works and will be released soon.

Earlier, rumors circulated online that the company would release the special Iron Man edition of Samsung's latest devices to coincide with the recent launch of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" film.

With the rumors about the Iron Man-themed devices increasing, Samsung recently released a photo that hinted at the devices but only focused on the box for the Iron Man Galaxy S6 Edge version.

Prior to the movie's release, Samsung brought out a number of themes for the Galaxy S6 and its curved screen variant, the S6 Edge. These included a main theme based on the film "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in addition to other themes focusing on specific characters comprising team Avengers such as Hawkeye, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow and Captain America.

The themes were released only for the Galaxy S and the S6 Edge last March.

Online sources said the Iron Man version of the two latest Samsung phone models would feature the traditional red and gold colors of Iron Man's armor. Some websites even created Iron Man concept models for the phones.

A recent report in The Korea Times said Samsung is creating a red Iron Man edition and was consulting with Marvel about the device.

Last year, Marvel, the owner of the rights to the Avengers film franchise, entered into a marketing deal with Samsung. Samsung previously placed a number of its mobile devices in the film and even revealed some of these in special trailers created for the film.

There are no details so far on which markets would get the special Iron Man edition of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung is currently dealing with supply shortages amid high demands for the two devices.
