The events that lead to Francisco Vargas' (Ricardo Chavira) murder will finally be revealed. Meanwhile, Eli/Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) plays a puppet under the hands of the new character played by Zoe Perry.

On the next episode of "Scandal" season 6, titled "Extinction," the person responsible for Frankie's murder will finally be unveiled. Moreover, it appears that the truth about Frankie's death will force Olivia (Kerry Washington) to change some things about the campaign.

"Rowan is caught by surprise when someone from his past resurfaces, and Olivia has to make a life-changing decision about the campaign. Meanwhile, flashbacks reveal exactly what happened the night of Francisco Vargas' assassination," the episode's listing on The Futon Critic reads.

There are speculations that Rowan is responsible for Frankie's death, but a new player in "Scandal" season 6 might be the one who called the shots for his assassination.

This new character (portrayed by Zoe Perry) in the show is someone from Rowan's past, and she appears to be someone who has control over Papa Pope. In an interview with Variety, Scott Foley who plays Jake Ballard in "Scandal," revealed that Rowan is truly afraid of this character.

"He's always been the boss who's been pulling the strings, but now, someone is pulling his strings. We don't know who she is yet, but we know that she's got something on Rowan — she's got enough on him that he's willing to do whatever it is that she wants him to do," Foley explained.

It was also previously revealed that Zoe Perry's character is the one responsible for setting up an account under Olivia's name, where funds rooted from Tom Larsen (Brian Letscher) and Jeff Perry's Cyrus were used for Frankie's murder.

Foley added that part of the reason why Rowan is afraid of this new character is because they have hands on Olivia, and they are capable of destroying her or of doing something worse.

"Scandal" season 6 airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
