'Sense8' season 2 spoilers news: Sensates explore their powers as the Whispers remain their toughest threat
The Sensates will explore their powers and abilities in the upcoming season, and while new dark characters will be introduced, the Whispers will remain their toughest threat.
As a group, the Sensates will become stronger especially after they explore their powers further and tap into their ability to communicate with each other in "Sense8" season 2. However, that's not all that fans should expect when the sci-fi thriller returns to the small screen.
In a recent interview with the cast and crew, it was revealed that Tina Desai's character, Kala, who was more of a pretty face and love interest in season 1, would start contributing to the group more.
"Because in this season, there's more of Whisper hunting us while we're simultaneously trying to hunt him," Desai explained as the reason behind her full involvement with the Sensates.
As far as exploring their individual powers goes, Jamie Clayton, who plays Nomi, said the eight Sensates would "come together as a cohesive group" once they learn about their powers. The group would apparently find someone, a mentor, who would teach them more about their abilities.
Discovering more about their powers and further honing and strengthening their skills would be crucial in helping the Sensates fight the Whispers and other dark characters that will be introduced as the upcoming season progresses.
Speaking to Gold Derby's Daniel Montgomery, the show's director, J. Michael Straczynski, said the second season would be answering more questions about the Sensates.
"The second season is about providing a lot of the answers to the questions that viewers had after seeing the first season," he said.
According to Straczynski, the Sensates would be able to understand the "mythology behind what it means to be a sensate"once they broaden out and discover other entities like them.
There is no final word on "Sense8" season 2's release date yet, although it is expected to return early next year, with a Christmas special airing in December.
