Filming is currently underway for the sophomore run of "Shades of Blue", and the police procedural drama will have new faces on board once it returns next month.

Lieutenant Matt Wozniak's (Ray Liotta) wife will have a new face in the next season as "Gossip Girl" alum Margaret Colin steps in to replace Lolita Davidovich in the role of Linda. As noted by TV Line, a representative for NBC confirmed that Davidovich left the show due to conflicts in scheduling. Also joining the cast lineup is "Breaking Bad" star and Anna Gunn. The Emmy-winning actress' character is yet to be named, but her role description reads:

"A city Councilwoman on the rise and primed for a run at the Mayor's office, she's the former protégée of Wozniak (Ray Liotta) who used to be part of Harlee's (Jennifer Lopez) dirty crew of cops. She's a chameleon who rose up the ranks of the NYPD to Captain and then launched a political career fueled by her charisma and the fact that she is as comfortable at a blue-collar bar as she is at the Governor's mansion. As the season progresses, the details of her meteoric rise and her much darker and Machiavellian side comes to the fore."

Production for the show began last week in New York, and lead actress/producer Jennifer Lopez recently attended the Television Academy's "Shades of Blue" Event and spoke about her show's potential for an Emmy nomination. "It would be amazing," the 46-year-old said about the possibility of being nominated."The work that I do and being an artist for so many years, there's always a goal when you're a little girl, like, 'I want to win an Oscar one day, or I want to win an Emmy or a GRAMMY.' But then I've been in the business so long, the reward is actually being able to do this for a living. I really feel blessed. All that would just be icing on the cake if it happens."

"Shades of Blue" season 2 will have a midseason premiere on NBC.
