The Gallaghers deal with the loss of one of their own in the upcoming episode of the hit Showtime dramedy "Shameless" season 7.

Titled "Requiem for a Slut," the show's season finale will see the Gallagher family grapple with mixed feelings about Monica's (Chloe Webb) death. According to the official synopsis, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) has once again stood up for the whole family during their time of need, while Frank (William H. Macy) comes up with a new scheme that could change their lives in a big way. Debbie (Emma Kenney), Carl (Ethan Cutkosky), and Liam (Brenden Sims) get roped into Frank's plan, while Lip (Jeremy Allen White) makes an effort to take his life back on track. Meanwhile, Kev (Steve Howey) and V (Shanola Hampton) try to get even with Svetlana (Isidora Goreshter).

The season finale's promo clip kicks off with a doctor breaking the news about Monica's death to the Gallaghers. While looking through Monica's belongings, the siblings find a key with a number. The next scene cuts to Frank and his younger kids entering a storage unit where it's revealed that Monica left something valuable for them.

The storage unit is filled with Monica's stuff, but Frank is shocked when he finds a briefcase with bags of meth. He takes it home as he plans to sell it, but Fiona insists that they should flush it down the toilet. The discussion between the two leads to a violent fight with the last scene showing Frank being pinned down by his other kids as Fiona slaps him in the face.

"Shameless" is now heading into its eighth year, but Showtime still hasn't renewed the series. Sources claim that Rossum is currently seeking salary parity with her co-star Macy, holding up the renewal of the veteran Showtime program. According to reports, if Rossum can't close a deal soon, the network could either renew the show without her or cancel it.

The season 7 finale of "Shameless" airs on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
