'She's The One': George Clooney Says Marriage to Amal 'Changed Everything' in His Life
At the Disneyland premiere of his upcoming movie, "Tomorrowland," last Saturday, George Clooney talked about his wife, Amal, and how she has changed his perspective on things.
"All I know is that it sort of changed everything in terms of what I thought my future – my personal future – was going to be," he told People magazine when asked how connecting with Amal, 37, a distinguished human rights lawyer, changed his life.
"But I've always been an optimist about the world," the actor, 54, continued.
"I wasn't always completely optimistic about how it was going to work out personally for me. But now I am."
Clooney admitted that he was not looking for love before he met Amal Alamuddin. But when he met her, it didn't take long for him to realize she was the one.
"I think about three days in, you could tell," George told Access Hollywood's Liz Hernandez in an interview. "I mean, I knew when I met her that she was so extraordinary and special. And then I wondered if I'd ever get a chance to date her."
"Then, we became friends for a while before and then luckily, she said yes," George smiled.
On whether he found it intimidating, given that Amal was "different" from the women he was used to going out with, Clooney answered, "sure, it's always intimidating. [But] she's an incredibly warm, wonderful person... I think everybody gets intimidated. That doesn't change."
On whether Amal gets nervous mingling with the Hollywood A-list crowd, Clooney remarked, "She actually doesn't, because when she works, people's lives are on the line. So I think that 'play land' doesn't intimidate her."
The couple attended the "Tomorrowland" Disneyland premiere in the Anaheim, California, theme park. They had a very event-filled week. On Wednesday, they celebrated Clooney's birthday with an intimate gathering at his L.A. home. Clooney's production partner Grant Heslove, Cindy Crawford and her husband Randy Gerber were there at the cocktail party, along with 50 other guests.
