'Shovel Knight' Nintendo Switch update, release date news: details about 'Treasure Trove' revealed, plus new grand updates for 2017
"Shovel Knight" will have a version for Nintendo Switch. Aside from this, Yacht Club Games stated that they are planning for major surprises for the gamers this year.
The Nintendo Switch version of "Shovel Knight" will be titled as "Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove." The title will give the players a choice to purchase each campaign for the individual games on Xbox One, PC, Linux, Mac, PlayStation (PS4) and Switch.
"Happy New Year, loam lords! This year we have big plans for Shovel Knight! There's a lot of news, so let's dig in! Announcement time!" Yacht Club Games wrote on its website.
The developer revealed that the Body Swap Mode has already been completed and it will be included in the campaign. They showed a glimpse of what the mode will be seen once it is out. A photo of the Shield Knight and a Shovel Knight is also shown.
Furthermore, the cooperative play can now be played on all platform, except Nintendo Vita and 3DS. The developer wrote, "Finally!! After many requests! Grab a friend and rejoice! Local two player co-op in Shovel Knight's campaign is coming as a free update to all console and PC platforms."
The great thing about the co-op mode is that amiibo is not necessary to access the game.
Fans will also get the chance to experience more of "Shovel Knight" as there will be upcoming updates for this year — one of which is the King Knight's Campaign, which is described as a "crazy campaign" that features the "the gilded goob himself."
Also, the Battle Mode will soon hit the title, giving the players a chance to fight up to four players. They can choose between being an evil knight or a favored hero.
Yacht Club Games explained that its goal is to offer affordable, standalone titles for all types of players.
As for the "Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove" release, no date has been announced yet.
