The Pied Piper gang works on an absurd new project in the first trailer for HBO's start-up comedy "Silicon Valley" season 4.

Season 3 left off with tech savant Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) regaining control of his company. Fans can recall last season that Bachman and Nelson Bighetti/Big Head (Josh Brener) saved the day by buying the company back and keeping it away from Gavin Belson's (Matt Ross) hands.

After failing multiple times, the Hendricks tries to stumble upon a new endeavor and bring life back to Pied Piper. Now that Bachman (T.J. Miller) is the co-owner of Pied Piper, he and Richard's complicated relationship is expected to change.

In the new teaser for the upcoming installment, Hendricks appears to be reacting poorly to the unexpected success of the Pied Piper video chat app, leading him to consider leaving the company. "I need to build something else. We could build a new internet," Hendricks tells his collaborators, while Run the Jewels' "Talk to Me" plays in the background. The short clip ends with Hendricks and Jared (Zach Woods) celebrating their new discovery, following an awkward chorus of "Whoo!"

While the fate of the gang remains uncertain, it's worth noting that series creator Mike Judge previously said he prefers to see the guys in uncomfortable situations. "It's more fun to watch these guys be uncomfortable and fail and be humiliated," he shared during last year's Comic-Con. "They're funnier that way. If they become successful and live happily ever after it will be less fun to watch," Judge added.

Centered on the Silicon Valley culture, the show continues to perform well in ratings as it enters its fourth year. "Silicon Valley," which has been nominated three times for an Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy, also stars Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Suzanne Cryer, and Jimmy O. Yang.

The fourth season of "Silicon Valley" premieres on Sunday, April 23, at 10 p.m. ET on HBO.
