'Sister Wives' season 7 spoilers: Meri's daughter warned her about catfisher; Will Kody marry two new women?
In the season 6 finale of TLC's "Sister Wives," the Brown family sat down with host Erica Hill to talk about the many events that took place during the show's sixth season — the most controversial of which was Meri's catfishing scandal.
While Kody, Meri's husband, and the rest of the wives seemed supportive of Meri and didn't make a big deal out of the unfortunate incident, Mariah, Meri's daughter, was another story.
According to the 21-year-old, who is Kody and Meri's only child, she knew that Meri's online relationship was a catfishing scenario from the start and that she had tried to get her mother to put an end to it. Unfortunately, her warnings fell on deaf ears.
"From the very beginning I knew that was happening," Us Weekly quoted Mariah as saying. "I tried to tell her and I tried to make it not happen and she just did it anyway. She didn't listen to me."
Kody, on the other hand, was behind Meri all the way, saying of the catfisher: "They don't exist outside of our own minds. If we ignore them, they go away." He also dismissed Meri's relationship with the catfisher as nothing but talking and said that he didn't see it as an emotional affair.
While Meri admitted that she fell for the deception because of a "perfect storm" of circumstances, Kody said that his and Meri's legal divorce had left an "emotional gap" between him and his first wife, which had probably left her vulnerable. He also laid the blame on the family's critics, saying, "We've got haters... They came in and they messed with our marriage and I think this catfish was a hater."
Meanwhile, Hollywood Life has reported that "Sister Wives" season 7 may see the Brown family being rocked by a major shakeup.
According to the website, Kody is planning on divorcing all four of his current wives and marrying two new women. These two potential wives are said to be Amber, a family friend, and Mindy Jessop, Robyn's step-niece. The latter has appeared in a previous season of "Sister Wives" and has even done some babysitting for the Browns' 18 children.
TLC has yet to announce the premiere date for "Sister Wives" season 7.
