In the previous episode of "Sleepy Hollow" Season 2, titled "The Akeda," Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) were protected by the sword of Methuselah, but the Horsemen of the Apocalypse had Moloch. The episode was aired Dec. 1, 9 p.m. on FOX.

We were all greeted by thunder and lightning, which somehow signalled that things were about to get real. Abbie and Ichabod traveled to Fredrick's Manor with their sword because Henry had blown the horn, which signaled the rise of Moloch.

While Ichabod gave directions, lightning struck and hit the car, causing the GPS to stop working. Fortunately, the strike didn't electrocute them. They pushed the car to the nearest gas station, but then lightning struck again.

With no time to spare, they finally arrived at the manor. However, they found the place abandoned. They spent their time studying Henry's model of "Sleepy Hollow," and they were able to discern how he raised Moloch's army.

They suddenly heard a cry from Katrina (Katia Winter), which led them to where she was while Headless Horseman (John Noble) was about to perform a ceremony that would bind their souls together. Armed with the sword, Ichabod easily disarmed the man with not much effort.

Ichabod and Abbie left Katrina to find the exact location of Moloch from Headless in her own way.

Abbie and Crane argued over who should sacrifice themselves. The "Being of Evil" commanded Henry to murder his own mother, but Ichabod insisted that his life be taken instead. Henry looked too willing to slay his own father as he retold the biblical story about Abraham sacrificing his son Isaac. The Horseman of war pointed the sword towards Ichabod but stabbed Moloch instead.
