'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 episode 2 spoilers: Diana learns the truth about daughter?

A promotional still from "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, episode 2 "In Plain Sight" | FOX

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 premiered last week with a new demon-fighting team. This new motley crew returns this week in episode 2, "In Plain Sight," to test their chemistry once again.

Ichabod (Tom Mison), Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) and Diana (Janina Gavankar) investigate a location where witchcraft appears to be wreaking havoc.

The "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, episode 2 promo teases that a witch captures Diana. Promotional photos also show the same witch, who appears to have aged in minutes in front of the group.

The focus of "In Plain Sight," however, is Ichabod bearing the news about Diana's daughter, Molly (Oona Yaffe), who was implied to be the Second Witness.

The synopsis for "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, episode 2 teases that Crane and Jenny will "struggle with breaking some difficult news to Diana" after a major discovery.

From the looks of it, this could be Molly being the Second Witness. The duo might come across her sketches of Crane, which will, in addition to the 10-year-old just deciding to stop talking, have them believing they have found a new Witness.

This will be especially difficult for Diana to absorb as Molly is her life and has devoted to keeping her safe. Being the Second Witness will definitely put her in all sorts of danger.

Diana's character description when she was first introduced for "Sleepy Hollow" emphasizes that she is "fiercely devoted to her daughter and will do anything to protect her."

This will be understood by Crane as she knows the pain of losing someone. "And the two of them will quickly realize they have another important point of connection — though not one anyone would expect at first," it was teased further.

It seems that this connection is Molly ending up being the Witness. Whether this will be the case or not, fans will learn on "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, episode 2, "In Plain Sight," airing Friday, Jan. 13, at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
