'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 episode 7 spoilers: Molly's father comes back for her 11th birthday; team makes shocking realization

Molly's (Oona Yaffe) father unexpectedly resurfaces on the upcoming episode of Fox's supernatural drama, "Sleepy Hollow" season 4.

Titled "Loco Parentis," this week's episode will see the return of Diana's (Janina Gavankar) ex. According to the official synopsis, Molly's estranged father returns from duty just before her 11th birthday. His arrival comes as a surprise to everyone because he has been an absent parent for most of Molly's life. When Diana begins to consider giving her ex a chance to be part of Molly's life, the team makes a shocking discovery: Molly is missing.

Fox released a new promo for the upcoming episode, and it shows the team searching for Molly. As expected, Diana is worried about her daughter's safety, while Ichabod (Tom Mison) tries to locate Molly. While everyone frantically searched for her in the woods, the clip revealed that it's not their only problem. It turns out that the witness isn't just missing, she is also being tracked down by a demon.

At some point in the video, the Homeland Security agent begins to question Ichabod on how a monstrous creature can find her child. Ichabod explained that Molly has been drawing occult symbols, and he showed it to Diana. "She went looking for answers on her own," Diana said. "And in doing so she might have found a flair into the darkness," Ichabod continues.

Earlier this season, Ichabod discovered that Molly is the next witness. She took over the role following the death of Ichabod's previous partner, Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie). Last week's hour saw the team do everything they could to stop evil billionaire Malcolm Dreyfuss (Jeremy Davies) from getting the last piece of the Philosopher's Stone in an effort to become immortal. While the team successfully saved thousands of innocent lives from Malcolm, the episode wrapped up with Malcolm still alive.

The fourth season of "Sleepy Hollow" airs every Friday night at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
