Sony Xperia Z3 vs HTC One M9 Specs Review: Price, Features Comparison - Premium Devices with Great Design

When Sony Xperia Z3 was released in September last year, it quickly captured the attention of reviewers and users alike. This year, however, much buzz has surrounded the launch of the HTC One M9, which offers just a minor update over last year's HTC One (M8).

Design

Both devices are pretty close when it comes to design, but there's little doubt that the One M9 is more solid, thanks to its metal unibody that is hand-polished. The device also offers better color options and comes with a dual toned silver and gold body, another in gun metal, gold and, lastly, pink. As for the Xperia Z3, it has glass on its front and back. It features metal on its edges and nylon wrapped around the corners for protection. As for its colors, it comes in four options: white, copper, black and green.

Display

The HTC One M9 has a screen similar to its competitor. Its super LCD3 screen measures 5.0 inches and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441pixels per inch. As for the Xperia Z3 it has a screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.

Specs

In terms of specs, the One M9 is ahead as it comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A537cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. Compared to this, the Xperia Z3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, a Krait 400 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.

Memory

Comparing their memory slots, both phones have similar versions that allow for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. They also have similar 3 GB RAM each.

Price

The HTC One M9 costs $708.99 in its unlocked form. Along with a two-year contract, it is priced at $199. As for the Sony Xperia Z3, it costs $199 with a two-year contract.
