Sony Xperia Z3 vs Mi Note Review: Specs, Price and Features Comparison - Xiaomi Phone Is Bigger, Cheaper
Both the Xiaomi Mi Note and Sony Xperia Z3 are new smartphones with outstanding features. One clear distinction is that the Xiaomi device is cheaper than the Xperia Z3.
Starting with design, the Xperia Z3 has a metal frame and its front and back panels have been coated with tempered glass, which gives it a premium look and feel, while its edges have a matte finish. As for the Mi Note, it has a metal frame with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with a 2.5D curve for its front panel. Its back panel is also made from glass with a 3D curve.
As for their displays, the Xperia Z3 has a 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen with Triluminos display, a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch. The Mi Note, on the other hand, has a bigger 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch.
Comparing their platforms, both run on the Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) operating system. The Mi Note has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU while the Xperia Z3 has a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801chipset, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. As for RAM, both devices have 3 GB.
As for memory card slots, the Xperia Z3 has one which can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB, while the Mi Note does not have it.
The camera on the rear of the Xperia Z3 is also much better at 20.7 megapixels while the Mi Note has a 13 megapixel version. As for their front facing cameras, the Mi Note has a 4 megapixel shooter while the Xperia Z3 has a 2.2 megapixel camera.
In terms of price, the Mi Note is expected to sell for $399 without a contract while the Xperia Z3 is priced at $630 without a contract.
