While Walt Disney Studios prepare to launch "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in theaters this week, new reports claim that the production outfit might have accidentally leaked that title for "Star Wars: Episode 8."

AVS Forum reportedly spotted a trademark filing from Lucasfilm that was submitted to the European Union Intellectual Property Office Thursday, Dec. 8, for a project titled "Star Wars Forces of Destiny."

The report linked the trademark filing to the sequel of 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" due to the number of items that the name was being trademarked for. The items on the list include various products, including DVDs and other digital recording media, computer software and computer games, magnets, mobile phone cases and straps, stationery and other printed materials, bags, clothing and foot apparel, toys and sports items, among others.

The timing for the trademark filing could also be an indicator that the "Star Wars Forces of Destiny" could be the title for "Star Wars: Episode 8." Speculations claim that the first trailer for the film might come out during the Dec. 14 premiere of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in the cinemas.

On the other hand, Independent UK also speculates that "Star Wars Forces of Destiny" could refer to the possible plot where Rey (Daisy Ridley) will play an important role that will change the course of history.

Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm has yet to confirm if the speculated title for "Star Wars: Episode 8" is true.

The upcoming sequel to the epic space saga will also feature the return of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, and Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata. Laura Dern, Benecio del Toro and Kelly Marie Tran are also expected to appear in the upcoming film.

"Star Wars: Episode 8" is expected to be released in theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
