'Star Wars: Episode 8' spoilers: still-massive but more practical Snoke in the upcoming saga film

Like Rey's (Daisy Ridley) lineage, one of the other mysteries that J.J. Abrams's "Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens" brought to the table is the identity of the new master manipulator, Supreme Leader Snoke.

From the massive hologram being Mace Windu to Bobba Fett, the theories about Snoke's real persona are constantly making their way online. Although a new leak from the set of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" may not necessarily reveal who he really is, it may be a good key piece to take into consideration for speculators moving forward.

According to the usually reliable Making Star Wars website, director Rian Johnson may be ready to reveal Snoke's look behind that massive hologram from "The Force Awakens." A recent report suggests that he will not be computer-generated in the next film, at least in some parts of it. Instead, he will be fleshed via a huge puppet around seven- to eight-feet tall, which will need a couple of people to operate.

This makes a good contention that unlike most of the main game players in the "Star Wars" films who are human, Snoke might have a different race than the Skywalkers and the Solos. It is important to note that up to now, fans are still unaware of what kind or form the Supreme Leader actually is, only that his face looks highly deformed and his body is covered in a cloak-like clothing.

Based on his size alone, which remains the same as his holo-image, it seems like he is someone entirely new to the saga or at least someone who has not come to prominence yet. Should the latter be the case, it works perfectly with his backstory of seeing both the rise and fall of the Galactic Empire making him a silent bystander who has been planning his takeover for some time. It is possible that he only emerged from the shadows when he started tailing Ben Solo (Adam Driver) as revealed by Leia (Carrie Fisher) in a conversation with Han (Harrison Ford) in "The Force Awakens." And although he is described as powerful, it has not yet been determined where he got his powers as he is not blatantly called a Sith Master unlike most of the "Star Wars" antagonists. Instead, he is called as a "political leader" despite the fact that he is said to be training Kylo Ren to become a formidable force to the Dark Side.

This move also somehow defeats Serkis' specialty in playing Snoke via motion performance as he is basically the godfather of such a skill set. This is unless his face is going to be augmented by computer-generated imagery (CGI) on the suit much like what it did with Simon Pegg's Unkar Plutt in "The Force Awakens."

The yet to be titled "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
