'State of Decay 2' release date, latest news: Undead Labs to announce upcoming game's release date at E3 2017

Game developer Undead Labs is set to announce the release date of the much-awaited video game, "State of Decay 2," as well as other important details concerning the game during E3 2017.

According to a blog post written by Undead Labs founder Jeff Strain, the game developer company has been hard at work and that the team will continue to be busy until next year as they are driving toward the nearing launch of "State of Decay 2." He also mentioned that although he won't be able to announce the game's release date just yet, he can tell when the release date will be announced.

"The release date will be revealed, along with gameplay, systems, and so much more, at E3 2017," Strain wrote in the blog post. "So pace yourselves, mark your calendars, and get ready to party with us this June," he went on to say.

The existence of "State of Decay 2" was unveiled during this year's E3 back in June. The game's developers boast that the world in "State of Decay 2" is substantially larger than that of the first "State of Decay" game.

According to Gaming Bolt, the game will feature four-player co-op, which allows players to split up and explore the contents of the game's world on their own. Although the game does not feature a player vs. player combat mode, gamers can still potentially kill their allies in other ways, like baiting zombies to them.

The original "State of Decay" game was launched back in June 2013 for the Xbox 360 game console, followed by a PC version in the same year. A "Year One Survival Edition" was released for the Xbox One in 2015.

"State of Decay 2" has previously been confirmed to be released sometime in 2017 for the PC and the Xbox One. A more specific date will likely be revealed in June 2017 at E3, and it is also possible that an Xbox Project Scorpio version of the game could be announced.
