'Steven Universe' season 4 spoilers: Brand new songs previewed
Fans of "Steven Universe" can expect fresh new songs and revelations when the Cartoon Network series returns to the small screen with season 4 next month.
One of the songs was previewed at the New York Comic-Con (NYCC) panel. Show creator Rebecca Sugar and voice actor Tom Scharpling sang a duet titled "I Could Never Be Ready."
The song will be in an upcoming "Steven Universe" season 4 episode titled "Three Gems and A Baby." Plot details have not been revealed yet, but the song and the title of the installment provide a clue.
According to speculations, the episode will focus on Steven as a baby with Greg trying his best to be a good father with parenthood all new to him.
This would explain while he is the one singing and that the "baby" being referred to in the "Steven Universe" season 4 episode could be Steven.
If the song is a duet, it is unknown yet as to who will sing with Greg as Sugar does not voice a character in the series. If the episode will be about Steven as a toddler, it will make sense if it will be Steven's mother Rose Quartz who will sing the song with Greg.
Before "Three Gems and A Baby" will be preceded by a "Steven Universe" season 4 episode titled "Gem's Harvest," which will see Peridot and Lapis grow a vegetable field.
The two believe that a vegetable can also talk and walk like Gems. Steven tells them it is not like that at all, but saves them the disappointment by creating a pumpkin that is actually breathing.
"Gem Harvest" will actually be the episode that will mark the return of "Steven Universe" season 4 to Cartoon Network's programming. This is why it will be a 30-minute special.
A specific air date has not been announced yet but a late November broadcast is being rumored.
