Will (Noah Schnapp) has returned from the Upside Down, but something in him has changed that might make him the next Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). Meanwhile, a new monster may have taken the Demogorgon's reign on the little town of Hawkins.

"Stranger Things" will be returning on Halloween with season 2, and its storyline begins a year after the events that took place in the previous season.

Netflix released a "Stranger Things" Super Bowl Ad that features hints and previews at what's to come in season 2. One of them is that Will is being examined at an institute, which might lead to him having abilities like Eleven.

Meanwhile, it appears that a new monster will be wreaking havoc in the little town of Hawkins in "Stranger Things" season 2.

The promo description reads: "A year after Will's return, everything seems back to normal ... but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins."

In season 1, Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and the gang were up against a Thessalhydra during their game of "Dungeons and Dragons." Business Insider points out that the new monster shown in the preview could be known as the Thessalhydra because of the entity's resemblance to the one in the board game.

Also, the inclusion of the Eggo commercial might be hinting at what the new monster looks like. "What's green and purple and has a million legs?" the young boy asked his sister, while kind of describing a deadly spider during the Eggo commercial.

The Super Bowl ad of "Stranger Things" season 2 also teased some of the film references that were used for the show such as "Ghostbusters" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

Since season 2 is set in 1984 — which is the year that "Ghostbusters" first hit cinemas — Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike, and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) can be seen wearing the Ghostbusters uniform while riding their bikes.

"Stranger Things" season 2 is slated to premiere in October on Netflix.
