'Stranger Things' season 2 spoilers: new casting additions revealed
Netflix hit gold when it released "Stranger Things" back in July 2016, making fans eager to find out more about the show's highly anticipated season 2.
While The Duffer Brothers like to keep the details about the sophomore season of the sci-fi horror web series in the dark, the series creators opted to reveal the casting additions for the show's upcoming installment.
"Stranger Things" season 2 will introduce Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper's (David Harbour) former schoolmate Bob Newby (Sean Astin), who is now managing the Hawkins Radio Shack. The series will also feature the Department of Energy executive named Owens (Paul Reiser), who is assigned to keep the horrendous events that happened to Joyce's son Will (Noah Schnapp) and the other unexplainable incidents that occurred in town a secret.
They will be joined by an emotionally distraught woman named Roman (Linnea Berthelsen) who arrived in town because of the strange events that happened, as well as the former journalist-turned-conspiracy-theorist Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman).
Aside from these characters, two new series regulars will be added to the show. One of them is the tomboy named Max (Sadie Sink), while the other one is her older brother, Billy (Dacre Montgomery). The two of them are expected to interact with Will and his friends Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), as well as the mysteriously missing girl named Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
Despite the secrecy behind the plot of "Stranger Things" season 2, actor David Harbour addressed a fan suggestion during the 2016 New York Comic Con panel about his character's possibility of adopting Eleven since he was the one who kept on sending Eggo packages to the psychokinetic girl toward the end of season 1 as reported by Vanity Fair. "There would be a rich emotional arc there that I would like to explore," the actor kidded.
Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of "Stranger Things" season 2.
