'Suicide Squad' spoilers news 2016: New character posters for villainous squad hint of explosive movie
Warner Bros. recently debuted a new set of posters for "Suicide Squad," and if the posters are anything to go by, fans of the comic book adaptation are definitely in for a treat.
The new comic-book inspired posters were revealed on the film's Facebook page and featured the main characters that complete Task Force X, the group of incarcerated criminals who perform black ops duties for the government. Among those featured were Deadshot (Will Smith), The Joker (Jared Leto), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), and Boomerang (Jai Courtney).
A day after the first set was released, another set debuted, this time featuring Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Slipknot (Adam Beach), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Katana (Karen Fukuhara) and Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje).
The movie is coming out in theaters on Aug. 5, and according to Movie Web, there is no official word yet whether the movie will have a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. Speculations are rife that Warner Bros. might put together a surprise early screening in San Diego since the movie is opening a few weeks before SDCC. At any rate, plans could still change, so fans are encouraged to wait for further details.
"Suicide Squad" will feature some of the most dangerous supervillains who gave hell to DC superheroes. However, these villains, armed with the most powerful arsenal from the government, no less, will be going against an enigmatic and purportedly insurmountable entity. They will be under the helm of U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller. It would be a treat to see this band of misfits coming together.
Ben Affleck would be in the movie to reprise his role as Batman, and there are rumors going about that even Jesse Eisenberg would show up as Lex Luthor. Scott Eastwood, Ray Olubowale, and Common round up the ensemble cast of "Suicide Squad."
The posters are in full display on Facebook, but check out two of them below.
