'Suits' season 6 spoilers news: Stars tease trouble Mike faces in jail, Harvey getting involved
The premiere episode of "Suits" season 6 will find Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) facing a threat on his first night in prison.
In the season 5 finale, the faux lawyer sacrificed his freedom so that Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Jessica (Gina Torres) wouldn't have to go to jail. In a stunning twist, Mike pleaded guilty to charges of fraud and accepted a two-year prison sentence.
According to Adams, Mike's prison stint will neither be an easy nor a safe one.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly at this weekend's ATX Television Festival, the actor said, "A threat sort of comes along, and he's forced into a situation where he needs to start defending himself and coming up with a game plan of how to protect himself over the long haul."
He also revealed that Mike and Harvey will be working together to handle the threat and to get Mike out of jail.
As Adams told EW, Mike will definitely not be feeling great in his new digs. He will, however, be experiencing a sense of freedom after having held on to his secret for so long and finally being able to move past it. According to the actor, in season 6, viewers will find Mike trying to figure out what he should do in the next few years.
Meanwhile, Adams' co-star Macht also talked about Mike's first night in jail and how it somehow affects Harvey.
"We see Mike's first night in prison and see the trouble that starts there — and how it circles back to Harvey," Macht told the New York Post. "Harvey acts on his instincts; sometimes he's thought it through and sometimes he goes about things in an alternative manner and it comes back to bite him in the ass. You'll see that in Season 6: the consequences Harvey pays for his actions."
"Suits" season 6 premieres Wednesday, July 13, at 9 p.m. ET on USA Network.
