'Suits' season 6 spoilers: No new love interest for Rachel; Mike in trouble with Frank
"Suits" is back on the small screen for its sixth season and as fans expected, the premiere episode kicked off with Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) exchanging his suit and tie for handcuffs and prison clothes. And as seen in episode 1, trouble has already started for Mike in jail.
Mike's situation is tricky and difficult but it's not only him that's struggling. His lover, Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle), is also trying to get by with his imprisonment. As for the fans, they're worried that Rachel may find someone else while Mike is behind bars.
Ever since the new season introduced Professor Dunbar (Malcolm Gets), speculations started surfacing saying that Rachel could find a new love interest. However, as revealed by creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh to TV Guide, Rachel and Professor Dunbar's relationship is far from a romantic one.
He also said that throughout the season, there isn't going to be a lot of relationship drama between Mike and Rachel.
"She's not going to be tempted by another man and obviously he's not going to be dating other women," stated Korsh. "They are each trying to deal with him being incarcerated in their own way," he added.
Aside from that, Korsh explained that Mike is just trying to survive especially now that he has made an enemy in prison in the form of Frank Gallo (Paul Schulze). In an interview with Yahoo! TV, Adams said that Frank isn't like the other villains in the show.
The series had only little violence in it like Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) punching someone in the face but this time around, things are different as Frank may be going after Mike to cause some serious physical harm to him. Now Mike will have to do everything he can to make sure that he avoids death at the hands of Frank.
The question though is how long he will be able to dodge Frank's attacks considering his stay will be as long as two years, unless Harvey finds a fast way to get him out of there.
"Suits" season 6 airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on USA Network.
