'Super Mario Run' new patch adds more features; Is the mobile a 'sexist' game?
"Super Mario Run" already has millions of downloads from the iOS fanatics all over the world. The game may still gather millions more of players through the new update that can now be downloaded by the players.
Nintendo has just rolled out a new patch for its hit mobile game, "Super Mario Run." Patch 1.0.2 can now be downloaded through the App Store to see what new features have been added and what fixes have been repaired.
Nintendo, however, did not give further details on some of the improvements it has applied in the game. "Super Mario Run" is a free downloadable game, but players will have to pay $9.99 to play all the levels. Playing it as a "free to start game" only allows players a few levels to enjoy.
For those who are still curious about its gameplay, "Super Mario Run" still features the classic vibe that long-time players have been enjoying. The game was out for the mobile platform to see the popular hero run in the game through touchscreen controls. Mario runs all on his own, though he needs help from the players to avoid obstacles or fight enemies.
Android phone owners still have to wait for their own "Super Mario Run" to become available on their handsets. Nintendo has yet to announce when the game will be available for their devices, but the developer promised to release it early this year.
In other news, some gamers are wondering why the female characters of "Super Mario Run," Princess and Toadette, are out only as unlockable characters. This has led to the belief that the game is "sexist," according to Forbes. The publication noted this through New York Time's Chris Suellentrop, who wrote that the update failed to reach out to the contemporary audience, who have seen "The Force Awakens" with a female Jedi and "Frozen" with a different take from the usual fairy tale princess theme.
Nevertheless, "Super Mario Run" is still a hit mobile game as reflected by its millions of downloads.
