Surface Phone specs, rumors, latest update: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella speaks about the 'ultimate mobile device'
Speculations about the Surface Phone have not died down and it seems like Microsoft wants to keep it that way. In fact, company CEO Satya Nadella seems to be delighted over the fact that the device is being hyped about even if it is not announced.
The rumors about Surface Phone emerged when Nadella said to Australian Financial Review that the company is in the process of performing a research that would boost the company's market presence in the smartphone industry.
Though he did not mention the Surface Phone or any specific gadget they are coming up with, the Microsoft CEO stated that he is confident of the company's goal to bring in an innovative cloud computing would be successful. He also mentioned that the company is not in a hurry to penetrate the smartphone market just to compete with leading brands like Samsung and Apple despite gathering positive reviews for their recent gadgets.
"We will continue to be in the phone market not as defined by today's market leaders, but by what it is that we can uniquely do in what is the most ultimate mobile device," he said.
Microsoft's Surface series of computers, coupled with their Xbox One console and HoloLens, also received rave feedback from tech reviewers, stating that they suddenly are looking forward to Microsoft devices rather than those from Apple.
"The key in any momentum we have is that you have to have some amount of boldness in taking risk, and knowing that you are not always going to get it right," Nadella said, according to AFR Weekend.
"I mean, take even Surface. Three years ago, the two-in-one as a form factor was questioned. Does anybody need one? And now guess what, even our competition has decided that it's not a refrigerator and a toaster but it's actually a two-in-one," he added.
Surface Phone may be a figure of imagination for now, but what Nadella stated may give a hint that a superior handset is soon to come. There is nothing much to do but to wait for Microsoft's announcement.
