Taylor Swift 'Blank Space' Music Video: New Video Becomes Internet Sensation

A leaked music video from Taylor Swift that shows the singer "acting all crazy" has become an Internet sensation.

Yahoo inadvertently released the music video for Swift's "Blank Space" single for a few hours before taking it down. After the leak, the music video was released by VEVO and went on to become an Internet hit. The video trended on Twitter for a while and saw several screenshots of it being circulated.

"Blank Space" is one of the tracks in Swift's chart-busting "1989" album released last month.

Driving the interest around the single from "1989" is the fact that it features Swift "acting all crazy" as she describes how she's "got a long list of ex-lovers who'll tell you I'm insane."

The video starts off with Swift and her onscreen lover played by Sean O'Pry enjoying an idyllic relationship complete with picnics, champagne, chocolates and white horses. However, things quickly deteriorate into screaming matches and destruction of cars, cakes and shirts once Swift finds that he is sending tweets to someone else when he is with her.

The video, according to Billboard, is a perfect example of "self-parody" as it addresses the public's perception that Swift is a crazy girlfriend who writes songs based on relationships after splitting up with her lovers.

In many of her albums, Swift described her ex-boyfriends. This has given rise to many Internet meme's with the theme that "Dating Taylor Swift, means you will wind up in a song."

The director of the music video for "Blank Space" Joseph Khan told Rolling Stone that she wanted to delve into that perception in the lyrics and video.

"Blank Space" looks set to follow "Shake It Off" onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart where the single has spent three consecutive weeks at the top.
