Taylor Swift Dating Revelations: Swift and Her Friends Have Dated Mostly the Same Guys

The dating life of singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has always been a rich topic of discussion and speculation, with the latest romantically linking her to fellow singer-songwriter Calvin Harris.

She has had multiple high-profile romances that have played out in the media—Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, Harry Styles, John Mayer, and Jake Gyllenhaal among others.

What is strange though is that almost all of Swift's boyfriends have, at some point, dated someone whom Swift considers her former or current friend. Maybe this just means that when you're a young and famous celebrity, and are (or were) friends with Swift, your dating pool will definitely include a lot of the men Swift dated in the past.

Here is a list of Swift's BFFs and their common denominators:

Selena Gomez – Gomez and Swift both dated Taylor Lautner. Swift and Lautner (who shared the same first name) were together for three months, August to November 2009. Before that, Lautner was linked to Gomez.

Ellie Goulding – Both Goulding and Swift have dated Calvin Harris. Goulding dated the Harris in 2014 and Swift is recently being linked to him after they were spotted doing some PDA – or public display of affection – in Nashville in March. Goulding and Swift have also dated members of One Direction – Niall Horan for Goulding and Harry Styles for Swift.

Katy Perry – Though not quite as close friends now as before, Perry and Swift have both dated John Mayer. Perry and Mayer began dating in 2012 and were on-and-off for almost a year. Rumors are rife that they have gotten back together. Swift and Mayer dated back in 2009 – and the results were the songs "Dear John" by Swift and "Paper Doll" by Mayer.

Demi Lovato – Both Lovato and Swift have dated Joe Jonas in 2010 and 2008, respectively. Jonas famously dumped Swift over the phone. Lovato and Jonas were only together for a few months.

Ashley Greene – Greene also dated Jonas, from Summer 2010 to May 2011.

Sarah Hyland – Swift never dated Hyland's boyfriend, Dominic Sherwood, but he was cast as Swift's love interest in the music video for "Style."
