'Teen Mom 2' news 2016: Cast celebrates 100th episode; Kailyn Lowry releases book
"Teen Mom 2" is about to debut with its eighth season, and the cast and crew have decided to celebrate the MTV hit show reaching 100 episodes.
The Hollywood Gossip reports that, though reality shows don't usually have a long run on TV, "Teen Moms" has successfully been able to go on for a while.
The event was attended by stars Jenelle Evans and her current partner David Eason. There was also an appearance by Chelsea Houska and the show's Dr. Drew. Even Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin were in attendance.
Speaking of Lowry, she recently released a book called "Hustle and Heart" which talks about her experiences when it comes to romance. In the book, she writes about her former lover, Marroquin, and how he wasn't the best man for her.
Marroquin has also made it clear that the release of the book has bothered him a bit, but at the same time, he congratulated Lowry for her achievement, and the two were able to be civil during the celebration.
The book looks to be a tell-all novel which goes into shocking details about Lowry's youth. In the book, she even talks about sexual assault in her teen years committed by an admirer named Caleb. After the assault, Lowry said that she had to be taken into the hospital to get stitches and that she refused a rape kit because of the "consequences."
Aside from the current stars of the show, Entertainment Online has also come up with a list to commemorate all the former "Teen Mom" stars that have turned their lives around. Aside from Lowry, the list also included Amber Portwood, Jennelle Evans, and Farrah Abraham.
"Teen Mom 2" season 8 will probably release sometime in 2017, but fans can stream all the episodes online on mtv.com.
