The cast of the animated superhero series "Teen Titans GO!" are set to meet Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup of "The Powerpuff Girls" when the two shows cross over in June on Cartoon Network.

The recently announced crossover comes just a few weeks after the Powerpuff Girls' return to the airwaves with new voice actors in April. The girls' team-up with the young heroes of "Teen Titans GO!" also comes at a time when films and television series are replete with superhero team-ups and crossovers.

This year has already seen the big box office flicks "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Captain America: Civil War," and will see the upcoming "Suicide Squad." On the small screen, The CW's DC superhero series have found Supergirl and The Flash meeting and fighting evil villains together for the first time.

Nonetheless, the upcoming "Teen Titans GO!" and "The Powerpuff Girls" crossover is said to be all about friendly competition and light-hearted heroism.

"Jump City will never be the same when our little superheroes Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup meet up with the Teen Titans for the very first time," "The Powerpuff Girls" executive producer Nick Jennings said in a statement (via USA Today). "When these two worlds of superheroes collide, it will surely be something to remember."

"It's a really fun crossover that came about in a very organic way and it was really great getting to put these two iconic superhero teams together," "Teen Titans GO!" producer Aaron Horvath added.

The crossover episode is said to have Mojo Jojo, the Powerpuff Girls' main foe, being "up to no good" in the Teen Titans' town. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup will then have to work with the Titans to take down the evil monkey villain.

As Horvath told the outlet, Teen Titans members Beast Boy and Cyborg will initially find Mojo Jojo cool and there will be some competition between the Powerpuff Girls and the Titans Starfire, Raven and Robin. There will also be a catchy new song titled "Monkey Army" made just for the crossover episode.

"The Powerpuff Girls" airs weeknights at 6 p.m. ET followed by "Teen Titans GO!" at 6:30 p.m. ET on Cartoon Network.
