The sixth and final season of "Teen Wolf" is gearing up to be one of the darkest so far in terms of storyline, and even the latest teaser poster for the series seem to indicate so. Here's what is known so far about the upcoming installment of the hit MTV series.

Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles Stilinski in the series, is still very much a part of the cast. There were earlier rumors that he's out of the series after sustaining major injuries during the filming of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure." However, the rumors have been doused, and the actor is purportedly raring to start filming this month.

To accommodate his brief hiatus from the production set, his character will go through a tough time in "Teen Wolf" season 6 after the new villains, the Ghost Riders, set their eyes on Stiles. According to reports, the Ghost Riders will erase Stiles' existence from the memories of his friends and loved one, with Lydia (Holland Roden) being the last one to forget about him. It remains to be seen how Scott (Tyler Posey), Lydia, and the rest of the gang figure out who is "missing" among them and how they can save him.

Meanwhile, Dylan Sprayberry, who plays Liam on the show, recently teased that "Teen Wolf" season 6 will see a time jump beyond last season's finale. Hence, fans could expect more grown up and mature characters in the final installment.

As per Sprayberry, the characters, composed mostly of teens, will be better at handling their emotions in season 6 than they did in the past seasons. He even hints that a romance might finally blossom between him and his love interest in the series.

In related news, the cast of "Teen Wolf" is expected to attend the New York Comic-Con. Posey, Shelley Hennig, Roden, Melissa Ponzio, Sprayberry, and Linden Ashby are expected to join the panel, which is scheduled on Oct. 8 at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Showrunner Jeff Davis is expected to join the cast as they dish out more details about the final season of the series.

"Teen Wolf" season 6 is slated to return on MTV on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. ET.
